Mental Health Awareness Week

We love sharing the benefits of being outdoors, while volunteering, while connecting with others and generally being good eggs. Here’s our Community Navigator Ruth, who recently visited Glossop Community Allotment and met Dave Sudworth, long time gardener and Allotmentier, and one of the volunteers he works with on the allotment.

Ruth was checking out activities within the local area that people can get involved with, to improve wellbeing and get stuck in with something productive. Even small contacts with nature can reduce feelings of social isolation and be effective in protecting and improving our mental health.

We can definitely see how working on the allotment with other people, who have similar interests, could benefit our wellbeing. Especially while enjoying those amazing views!
