Sight Loss Support
Through the Bureau, we are able to support sight impaired people in the Glossopdale area in may ways. This includes home visits to assist with magnifiers, lighting and help around the home.
In addition we record the local newspaper onto a CD which is posted out every Thursday free of charge for anyone who is registered visually impaired. We also put some in Glossop library. This is a useful way for people with sight loss to keep up with local news.
Furthermore we have an active visually impaired people’s group – see The VIP Group.
Finally, our sight loss support team also provide weekly telephone befriending calls to sight impaired people via our Call Companions scheme – see our Social Connections.
The Thursday Club
Weekly volunteer-led social connection activities for those living with dementia and peer support group for their carers.
