Simon joined the The Bureau in early 2020 as a trustee, and during that time Simon has also been a Bureau volunteer as a befriender and as a mentor on the Life Skills programme. He is motivated by a commitment to the local community, and a desire to see The Bureau provide the best possible services for the people of the area.

Starting his career in housing management in 1979, Simon worked for several local authorities before becoming chief executive for a large West Yorkshire housing organisation in 2002, up to his retirement in late 2015.

Simon has held non executive board positions in several not for profit organisations for over 10 years, and has been a self employed coach and mentor since retiring. Simon has lived in Glossop for nearly 40 years.
