Sophie Glinka
Trustee
Sophie is passionate about voluntary and social action. She has 20 years of personal and professional experience within the health, social care and voluntary and community sectors. She currently works within the national experience and partnerships team at NHS England, focusing on volunteering programmes that innovate and widen access and participation in volunteering within the NHS and social care.
She grew up in Glossop and now lives with her family in Old Glossop. Before joining NHS England in 2021 she was the Chief Officer here at The Bureau so brings her passion for the organisation and the community of Glossopdale to her role as Trustee. Sophie also has extensive experience in the design and delivery of VCSE community health models locally, regionally and nationally in addition to VCSE and volunteering policy, strategy and delivery. She has a special interest in reducing health inequalities and has recently gained a PG Cert in Public Health.
In her free time, Sophie volunteers with various other community groups in Glossopdale offering support on strategy and funding. She is also studying for a level 7 diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management, and enjoys walking and taking in the beautiful scenery and wildlife around her home in the peak district.
