Visually Impaired Group
Welcome to the Glossopdale Visually Impaired (VIP) Group!
We are an independent self-help and support group that works in partnership with The Bureau. Our aim is to connect people who are experiencing sight loss in the Glossopdale area, providing mutual support and fostering a sense of community.
What's Involved?
The VIP group meets on the first Monday of each month from 12PM-2PM at The Norfolk Arms in Glossop. It’s a perfect opportunity to catch up with other visually impaired individuals and enjoy a meal together, with no cost to attend.
In addition to monthly meetings, our group provides befriending support and home visits to help with aids and equipment, as well as signposting to other local support services. We also organize monthly social outings, including theatre trips, meals out, visits to garden centers, and local coffee shops.
I can't thank you enough for the support you have given me with my sight impairments. After struggling with my eye condition, a friend told me about the VIP group and I came along to the monthly meeting. I realized I wasn't alone and the practical advice and support you gave me really helped me cope with my sight loss. I also really enjoy the trips out and have made some very special friends through this group. Thank you!
