The Bureau go ‘DIY SOS’

On Saturday the 18th February 2017, volunteers and staff from The Bureau, Derbyshire Constabulary, Derbyshire County Council’s ‘Time-Swap’ project and Tesco worked together to pull off a ‘DIY SOS’ inspired job to help out at Glossopdale Furniture Project.

The Glossopdale Furniture Project has been awarded a community grant for a brand new poly-tunnel with work due to start later in the year, so our job was to clear the area where the tunnel will be placed. We got straight at it in the morning and then we began to repaint the front of the site in the afternoon.

Everyone grafted extremely hard and we were able to clear the site of litter and other obstructions. Glossop Furniture Project were extremely grateful
for all the efforts of everyone involved and were particularly happy with how the different branches within our community were able to pull together to support a both brilliant and their charity.

We are planning to continue our work with the Glossopdale Furniture Project and partners in the future and hopefully this is the first of many positive days such as this.
